FileNet

FileNet, now owned by IBM, is an ECM (Enterprise Content Management) system. It involves, among other components and interfaces, tools to manage documents, from pure storage or retrieval, to manipulation,  the routing and controlling of those documents as they make part of business processes and workflows.

I have been involved in FileNet projects since 1992, meaning that I worked on the following iterations of FileNet systems and interfaces (most of them legacy systems bu now):

  • CWS (Cluster Workstations and the WorkFlo language)

  • WorkForce Desktop and PC-Workflo

  • Workflo/Fax

  • FileNet OCX programming extensions

  • FileNet Panagon

    • Image System (IS), including deep involvement within the Index database

    • Document System (DS)

    • Panagon IDM

    • Panagon Capture

  • FileNet P8

    • ECM (Enetrprise Content Management, definition and manipulation of Document metadata and permissions)

    • BPM (Business Process Management), definition, administration and adaptation of the FileNet Workflow engine

    • BPF (Business Process Framework)

    • RMA (Record Management)

 

As well as carrying out work within the FileNet system, I have also built many interface to integrate FileNet application with external applications, such as 

  • Microsoft Excel

  • Microsoft Word

  • Oracle

  • SAP

  • Adobe Acrobat

  • Staffware 2000
